May you light a candle, feel its warmth, and affirm your own light in this world—a centering light that invites even the darkness to be known.

Tomorrow we honor motherhood in its wounds and blessings.
As I wandered in my backyard early this morning, I was remembering my own joys, mysteries, complexities and heartaches as a mother. And I began to wonder about mothers all around the world today.
This is an interesting time as we are navigating all that has shifted with coronavirus and I’m so aware of how we all may be experiencing it differently. Our realities are different, yet it is bringing to light our interconnectedness and it's complexities.
Every year that Mother’s Day comes around, I’m mindful of how we each can experience this day differently. This year is no different. In fact, it may seem to require even a little more of pause...a deep exhale and total presence with all that is happening in the world, in our homes, and in our own bodies.
I want to wish you a Happy Mother’s Day!
I first created this blessing was first created a few years ago and love it every year it seems to ask for a few new touches. Like motherhood, this blessing is ever-evolving.
Dear mothers of the world, sisters, I hold space for you this Mother’s Day in my prayers, in my heart, in my soul. I pray that if you are experiencing darkness, you may feel the nourishing light and energy of others coming to you.
And if you are feeling full in this moment, I pray that you would find ways to bless others as you release that fullness into the world.
May you know the gift you are just being YOU.
May all of our daughters and children know about themselves too because they see it in us.
