12 weeks of personalized guidance back to
rhythm, nourishment and yourself
You’ve learned how to support your child and their nervous system.
This is for you and yours.
You know more about the nervous system, trauma, and attachment than most people you'll ever meet. You may even work in a helping profession yourself.
You’ve been learning how to show up for your child. But who is teaching women how to care for their own bodies and nervous systems through the many seasons of motherhood?
Adoption support has made real leaps in recent years. What hasn't caught up yet is support for you. The oxygen mask instruction still comes with a list. "Regulate yourself first" still arrives without a real pathway for how.
When children spend so much of their lives in protection mode, mothers quietly end up there too. I know — I've lived it. Years of studying, practicing, and cycling back through it taught me something: what your children need most — safety, rhythm, being genuinely met — you need too.
Your body has been doing exactly what it was designed to do, for a very long time, without enough rest or space to process what it's been holding.
Ayurveda has had language for this for thousands of years. And it's very, very workable.
“Working with Karla helped me to be true to what was best for my own health. I’m already finding that as I receive restoration, and extend patience to myself, I have so much more patience and grace to extend to my family and those around me.” --Christa
"In working with Karla, I learned so much about self-forgiveness, gentleness with myself, and how self-care is more loving to others than feeling frazzled and almost resentful of other's needs for my time." — Kimberly
"I learned to parent from a place of deep listening, to take care of myself, to create space for all of our needs to be met, to tend to my body when I am being triggered and feeling out of my zone of tolerance, to slow down, to be present, and to let go of fear and to trust!” – Anita G
Mothering through adoption is beautiful, sacred, and life-changing.
And sometimes, it's also exhausting, overwhelming, and deeply tender.
You love fiercely. You carry so much…often quietly and unseen.
Nothing quite fully prepares us for motherhood — especially mothering children who have already experienced great loss. You showed up anyway. You keep showing up with immense love and care.
Many adoptive moms are holding far more than they were ever meant to hold alone, moving within a culture that leaves little space for rest, integration, grief, or repair.
Over time, the body begins speaking.
Exhaustion that sleep can't meet. Digestive issues, tension patterns, emotional reactivity, anxiety humming beneath the surface — or a quiet sense of disconnection. The mind races while the heart feels both full and overwhelmed at the same time.
Our bodies are always communicating.

…to rhythm, nourishment, and yourself
Rooted in Ayurveda and woven with somatic guidance, nervous system support, and deep listening, this work helps you metabolize life more gently so your body, heart and soul can begin to catch up.
Ayurveda teaches that we digest far more than food — we digest experience, stress, grief, and the relentless pace of life itself.
This is a guided, personalized journey back to rhythm and deep nourishment. It will feel like a homecoming. And it will also strengthen inner resources for mothering from connection and your center.
There is no quick fix here. It's all about a grounded, steady, supported transformation–and I’m delighted to accompany you as you return home to yourself.

Together
we listen to how your body responds and adjust as we go. Nothing here is fixed or formulaic. Over time, this work helps strengthen trust in your own body wisdom while creating meaningful shifts in how you care for yourself and move through life.
You’ll also know more about your body and it’s language, not just the body. You know your nervous system, not just about the nervous system.
Most of what's out there teaches you about the body, about the nervous system, and about regulation. This work gives you an embodied sense of your own.
This Is For You If
You have spent years attuned to your child's needs and somewhere along the way lost the thread back to your own
You're functioning, showing up, doing what needs to be done — and quietly running on empty behind all of it
You're making healthy choices and still exhausted. Still wired and tired. Still wondering why nothing is shifting.
You've tried the self-care list. You're tired of the self-care list.
You're carrying grief on many levels — some of it not even clearly yours
You're ready for support that works with the whole self, not just the mind
For All Seasons of Motherhood
Many women arrive here not in the early years of adoption, but at another threshold — when the nest empties, a marriage ends, perimenopause begins, or a parent needs care.
What we haven't yet had space to metabolize has a way of surfacing when life asks something new of us. Sometimes it shows up as exhaustion. Sometimes as hormones. Sometimes as a health crisis that seems to come from nowhere.
It didn't come from nowhere. The body keeps its own timeline.
If you've been wondering why you're feeling it now — this is often why. And this work meets you exactly here.

About Your Guide
Hey there. I’m Karla and I’m a mother through birth and adoption, and I know intimately what it feels like to care deeply for everyone else while quietly losing connection with yourself.
Years ago, although I was teaching yoga and supporting others, underneath I was exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious, and depleted in ways I couldn’t explain.
Ayurveda and somatic healing changed the way I understood my body, life, and even mothering—all of my daughters, but especially those who came to me through adoption and whose earliest days and years I wasn't able to share. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with me?" I began to understand that my system had simply been carrying too much for too long without enough support, rhythm, or space to recover.
I continue teaching, practicing and living Ayurveda because this wisdom has held me through grief, loss, motherhood, hard transitions, and rebuilding my life from the inside out. The teachings have guided me in how to hold joy and sorrow simultaneously, how to listen to my body with curiosity instead of judgment, how and how to return to center again and again.
Most of us were never taught how to build the kind of deep reserves that sustain us through motherhood, hormonal shifts, grief, and the life thresholds we don't see coming. We weren't taught how to care for our cyclical bodies or our nervous systems in ways that help us recover, adapt, and remain connected to ourselves. The beautiful thing is that it's never too late to begin.
This is some of the most meaningful work I have the privilege of doing alongside women.
For more than fifteen years, I've supported women through motherhood, grief, beauty, and transition through Ayurveda, yoga, somatic awareness, nervous system support, and deep accompaniment.
The through-line in all of my work is embodiment. I'm here to accompany you as you come home to your whole self and your inner knowing.
These three amazing humans are big now and still inspire me to play, find joy, and lean into rhythms that support me—us! I believe healing and embodiment is generational work.
More From Women Who’ve Done This Work
“Working with Karla was the best decision I made when I went through my recent big life transition. I learned so much during our time together about how to sustain my personal growth once our coaching time concluded.” -Amy Schornick
“The Ayurvedic rituals have changed my life, and I believe that it has also changed my child's life. Because he is seeing me practice self-care, it is becoming normalized for him. He'll grow-up thinking that it’s just what you do.”---Birgitta
“Karla has provided me a way to navigate through the world with far more ease and grace than I would ever have thought possible. I can think of no person who offers as much useful knowledge and guidance and who, herself, radiates goodness.” -D

Return to Center isn't a parenting program or therapy. It's personalized support for you—your body, your rhythms, and your well-being. Rather than asking you to do more, we simplify. Drawing from Ayurveda and somatic practices, we build on the rhythms of everyday life so caring for yourself feels more natural and restorative. And when a mother is well supported, the whole family benefits.
-
Many women begin this work feeling that way. Return to Center isn't about finding extra hours in your day or adding another wellness routine. Together, we'll look for simple ways to work with your body and the rhythms of your everyday life, so caring for yourself feels woven into your life rather than one more thing on your list.

No experience is necessary at all. We start where you are with what supports you in this moment and season of life and mothering. The approach is grounded and practical. It will grow with you.
You’re invited to be curious , compassionate, and open to experimenting with new tiny practices and habits.

There isn't a perfect pace to keep, Ayurveda and somatic practices both remind us that meaningful change happens gradually. This work honors the reality that life is dynamic and changes. We'll keep returning to what feels realistic for this season, making small adjustments that support your body instead of asking it to push harder.
Often, it's the simplest practices that have the greatest impact.

Many women find that one session opens something they did not know was waiting — and gives them a real felt sense of what deeper, sustained support could do. Former clients have often called me "the facilitator of possibilities," however these sessions are collaborative. As a facilitator, I approach each session with compassion and curiosity and invite you to do the same.
In-person sessions may include light hands-on or hands-near support.
"Thank you for being such a space of non-judgment. After my session, I felt so clear and so much is changing in my life and with my children now." — Nancy
